Lastly, my main leadership talk was about the “Three Catalysts” that correlate with Spiritual Growth:
(1). How Many Intimate Christian Friends a Person has at Any Given Moment:
(2). Ownership in a Weekly Ministry that charges them Up.
(3). A Leader who Regularly invites them into a “Next Step”
Now, if you’re interested in hearing more about each of these and how we, at Substance, apply these principles to our discipleship culture, be sure to click on the following resources.
VIDEO: “3 Catalyst Teaching” (Extended Version)
Description: Pastor Peter trains Small Group Leaders & Ministry Teams the “3 Catalysts” of spiritual growth; 3 ingredients that form the foundation of our entire model of discipleship. If we can guarantee our church is great at these three things, the format of our churches (size, style, digital vs. physical) won’t even matter: Click https://vimeo.com/340038567
Even better, drag a bunch of your leaders together and watch this video with one another Afterwards, simply ask the following questions:
(A). In light of the three above-mentioned catalysts for spiritual growth: In your ministry / small group: What’s working? What’s not working? What’s missing? What’s confusing? I.e., Which are we doing well? And where could we grow more?
(B). How might we build these values into our weekly ministries better?
(C). How might these catalysts change how we prioritize our time and money? Are there any weekly “time-wasters” (activities that don’t contribute at all to these values) that we might consider pruning from our weekly ministry schedules? Take time to discuss these ideas.
