SERMONS AND VIDEO CONTENT:
2024-02(Feb)4 “A God-First Lifestyle” (Part One in the Series, First Comes Love) All marriages will experience conflict. This can be quite disconcerting for a lot of young couples because they fail to understand that all intimacy comes through conflict. And rather than pushing forward through conflict many people simply partner swap, as if this will spare them from future pain. But God has a better plan for all of our relationships. Whether you are single or married, get ready to renew your minds. (Mt. 22:37ff; Joshua 1:8; Heb.10:25; Eph 5:18-20)
2024-02(Feb)11 “The Focus Principle” (Part 2 in the Series, First Comes Love) After a well fascinating history lesson on the history of Valentine’s Day, pastor Peter unpacks various scriptures showing God’s plan for “stewarding our attractions.” Using both scriptures and science, get ready to understand why feelings always follow focus. Great relationships are not found through perfect compatibility but rather perfect focus. (Prov 4:23; Mt. 6:21; Genesis 2:24).
2024-02(Feb)18 “Deal with Your Awkward” (Part 3 in the Series, First Comes Love) – all of us have areas of our lives where we’ve become awkward but don’t realize it. We actually normalize our dysfunctions because we can’t step outside of ourselves to see certain things. Naturally, this creates an unsustainable burden that will sabotage us when it comes to marriage, dating and parenting. It’s OK to have “awkward,” but it’s not OK to live in denial of it and make everyone shoulder the burden of it. (Mt. 6:21-24; Php 2:13)
2024-02(Feb)25 Careers & Kids First Comes Love Pt 4 We live in a world where it’s “normal” to dysfunctionally prioritize kids and careers over health. The majority of people who do this would never see themselves as unhealthy. But as pastors Peter and Carolyn Haas unpack multiple scriptures and research studies, prepare to rethink how marriage and parenting actually works. (Mt. 6:21)
2024-03(Mar)10 “Speaking Life” (First Comes Love Pt 5) In all relationships, if we fail to deal with small problems they become big problems. Pastors Peter and Carolyn talk about many of the habits that sabotage long term intimate relationships. Many people abuse Bible passages in order to avoid becoming mature. After hitting a few abused passages of scripture, Pastors Peter & Carolyn suggest some practical tips to help relationships get out of the ditch. (Isa. 58:9-10; Ephesians 5:22-33)
